Theresa and family, my deepest condolences on the loss of Val. I may have only known him for a short while, he always had a smile on his face.
May he rest in peace, and may you be blessed with the strength you need to get through this difficult time. God Bless!

Pop taught me good work ethic from a young age. When we were living with Nanny and Pop when I was 10 years old, he would wake up Richie and I shouting “6AM RISE AND SHINE!” and we would wake right up and it became a routine. After school, he would make sure we had our homework done before we can relax or have a snack and then he would make us grilled cheese sandwiches or “fasta pasta” and watch tv all together. As a kid, I thought this routine was silly as the last thing I would want to do was homework, yet he has instilled a discipline that has stuck with me and made me a hardworking person. He was stern, but always was so kind and made us feel loved. The 6 P’s: prior planning prevents piss poor performance. We love you so much Pop, and will miss you so dearly. :(

I've been trying to find the perfect word to describe my Uncle Val. Genuine, He was a genuine guy. He always wanted to know how I was doing, Johnny the kids. But I couldn't just say fine. Oh no, Uncle Val wanted to know all the details. Because he genuinely cared and he would remember and always asked the next time he saw me about what we talked about the last time.
Growing up, he was cool. He was silly, he was fun. He was a genuinely great guy and we loved him very much.

Pop and I would recite movie lines together. We loved comedy and action movies. We had so much fun.
He always had my back when my mom was upset with me during my teen years.
He also was an excellent grandfather to my kids, Gina and Richie, as I am sure he was to Robert as well.
I’m going to miss you so much. Rest in peace. Finally pain free!
I love you, Pop.

Many of us have a memory to share. I have many but the one that holds dear to my heart is when my brother Dave introduced me to his co worker at Rickles. Turns out, Dave works with my then girlfriend Victoria Manz brother. What are the chances??
I recall our in store introduction. He shook my hand and said, if you can afford her, you can have her. He laughed his ass off.
Then he gestured with his hands, she’s a space cadet. One hand pointing to the stars ans his smile, too funny.
I smiled and laughed because I knew I could grow to love this guy. He always told it like it is. Especially when we move Denise and Eddie from NY to NJ using his Bronco. He told me this trip was going to cost him a fortune in fuel and tolls but he was happy to get them closer to family. Val was always about family. I will miss my brother in law. Life taken too soon. Say hi to Mom and Dad. Let them know I love them. Wish I could have met Dad. I hear he had a unique way of shopping
