Our History
Back in 1847, William H. Freeman walked every day from his farm in Englishtown to his cabinet-making and undertaking business on South Street in Freehold. Our business has moved three times since those early days, when carpenters like William often became funeral directors because of their ability to make caskets. In 1914 we established our present location on East Main Street in Freehold, and in 1997 opened our second location on Route 9 North in Manalapan.
Freeman Funeral Home has been able to withstand the test of time. Today, the sixth and seventh generations of Freeman family are continuing to provide compassionate and knowledgeable service to our community. We are proudly the oldest family owned funeral home in Monmouth and Ocean County.
