Obituary of Peter Judd Kosarin

In Loving Memory of Peter Judd Kosarin.

Peter Judd Kosarin, born on April 10th, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, departed from this world on November 2nd, 2023, in Princeton, New Jersey surrounded by his family.

Peter is survived by his cherished family, including his sister, Linda Kosarin, his oldest daughter Amanda Kosarin Zamarippa, her husband Adam Zamarippa, their son Jaden and dog Roi. His middle daughter Dr. Kristi Kosarin D.O., her husband Patrick Trabucco, their children Jude, Adeline, Lucas, and Beckett, and dogs Delta and Daisy. His youngest daughter Chelsi Kosarin and her fiancé, Jacob Greenberg. He is also survived by his companion Dawn Kapalski. All of whom held a special place in his heart. 

Peter was predeceased by his father, Max Gustave Kosarin, his mother, Dorothy Baslow Kosarin, his wife and beloved, Rhonda Lee Beck Kosarin and lastly, Nina and Sheba, his childhood poodles, Sophia his favorite little yorky-poo and the family cat, Miss Kitty “in the high-school sweater“.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Flushing, Queens, Peter Kosarin was known for his spirited and energetic nature from a young age. His passion for sports, particularly baseball, ignited at the tender age of seven and remained a lifelong love. He began as a fervent Brooklyn Dodgers fan and later supported the NY Yankees when the Dodgers moved to LA in 1958.

His love for mathematics was also evident from his early years. This drive for excellence extended into his academic journey, leading him to Queens College, MIT and NYU Stern Business School where he ultimately earned an MBA in Computer Systems.

Peter's hobbies included reveling in the beauty of nature, listening to the melodies of the Eagles, Chicago, Michael McDonald, Fleetwood Mac and Al Jarreau. Peter was an avid traveler and a comedian at heart. His love for adventure and sense of humor led him once to drive east to see a sunset.  He particularly loved comedians George Carlin and Bill Burr. Later in his life he took the most pleasure in watching football and baseball with his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to watch them play sports.  Peter had a genuine love for learning about history, current events and Apple products. 

Peter's greatest source of joy and proudest achievement was meeting Rhonda, the love of his life and mother of his children, and the privilege of raising their three beautiful daughters in Livingston, New Jersey. Peter and Rhonda's love story was truly remarkable and although she left this world way too soon, Rhonda remained a beacon of love and a beauty in Peter's heart. Her memory and the legacy of her love were interwoven into his very being. His care and nurture of their children refleocted the beautiful partnership they had created, and he carried her memory with him every step of the way.

Challenged with the task of raising three young girls as a single parent, Peter met this immense responsibility with grace and boundless love. Tragically, Rhonda's life was cut short by breast cancer, a cause that became deeply significant to Peter and his girls. His unwavering dedication to the Susan G. Komen Foundation was not just a philanthropic gesture but an expression of love, as he sought to honor Rhonda's memory and make a positive impact in the fight against breast cancer.

Peter’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who had the honor of being a part of his life. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered, not only as a loving father, brother, and grandfather, but as a man who embodied resilience in its truest form.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 7th, from 2pm-4pm EST, at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, located at 344 Route 9 North in Manalapan, NJ. For those who are unable to attend in person, his funeral will be live-streamed on his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/peter.kosarin. Friends and family are invited to gather in shiva, support and celebration of Peter’s life at the Kosarin-Trabucco home in Marlboro, NJ.
