An incredible mother, & matriarch of our family! She somehow kept all 13 of us in line & taught us the true meaning of family. The older I got the more I realized how truly special she was. Small yet powerful, and her love was immense! It showed in ever thing she diid. The sacrifices she made for us were endless, and there is genuine joy in my heart, knowing that she’s finally at peace with our dad & God in Heaven,….exactly where she belongs!

Grandma, I’m truly going to miss you soo much (especially those amazing meatballs and spicy mushrooms you use to make, they were my favorite!) Grandma is the rock and literal foundation of our family. Our family is full of role models and she is the first. I can only hope to live my life by her precedent. Her selflessness, generosity, toughness, commitment, and faith were evident every day. She not only “built a city,” she showed all of us how to live well. She sacrificed more than I could ever know and we are who we are today only because of her.
The St Ignatius prayer of generosity encapsulates her selflessness:
Lord teach me to be generous
To serve you as you deserve
To give and not to count the costs
To fight and not to heed the wounds
To toil and not to seek for rest
To labor and not to ask for reward
Save that of knowing that I am doing your will

Maddalena Giambrone was an incredible mom of 13 and my grandmother who helped raise my brothers and I when we used to live with her and grandpa in Brooklyn, NY. So many incredible memories of growing up in the old Brooklyn house, thankfully many special moments are captured within our home videos. When they moved down the street from us in Marlboro, NJ we had the opportunity to continue spending precious time with grandma. We will always remember her immense strength and dedication to her family and her faith all throughout life. She will certainly be missed, yet we know that she is now pain free, and residing with grandpa for eternity in heaven and will continue to watch over us. I love you grandma.

Mommy I will always treasure our time spent together whether it was in your home, mine or at the dentist, eye doctor’s or shopping. You were at every occasion for our children giving them the joy of their grandma and her delicious food especially your perfectly round meatballs.
