My condolences for the loss of your mother, wife, grandmother and friend.....
I went to New Bridge Elementary School with Barbara many years ago....we were in the same class (Kindergarten through grade 6, I believe) and Barbara lived about a block away from me on the Boulevard in New Milford, NJ. We did not hang out with one another as she was a young girl and I was a young boy....and I played stick ball and other games with my male friends.
Barbara was always a very nice person....someone whom I alway liked...she seemed to be always positive, friendly and kind. An early memory (maybe in grade six) was when she and I were paired up in a mock trial, against some other team of two kids. Each team had to argue their case for the crime (whatever it was) and together Barbara and I made a great case and won the mock trial....it was always something I was quite proud of, though it might seem insignificant to others I might tell my story to...Barbara and I worked well as a prosecuting team and really destoyed the arguments of the other team. I was impressed by her sharpness.
I think we shared a dance or two together at grammar school or junior high dances....but Barbara was very tall, taller than me, and for a young boy, that was not an easy thing to cope with. I don't think we were in the any classes together in high school, so I was not close to her by that time.....but I always considered her a great friend, even though I might not have seen or talked with her for some time.
I just learned that she had a career as a nurse.....with her caring, kind, intelligent and positive nature, I know she was a wonderful caregiver.
I am sad to hear of her passing.....I know she has enriched many lives along the way, just as she enriched mine....she was a very loving person. It is comforting, at least, to know that she is in heaven, looking out for us.....
