Robert L. Black, 83, of Freehold Borough, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick surrounded by his family. Born in Fort Riley, Kansas, he has resided in Freehold for most of his life. Bob was a lineman for NJ Bell and a union representative for IIBEW Local 827. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Freehold, an avid sports lover and an overall lover of life. His family was his world, he loved them all very much. He was predeceased by his parents, Martha I. Johnston and William L. Black; his loving wife, Alma; son, Stephen; brother, Vyetold Urbelis; and brother-in-law, Robert Walling. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Bill Johnson; siblings, Ann Walling and Daniel Urbelis; grandchildren and their spouses, Janine and Michael Hannemann, Tricia and RJ Dunn, and Kaitlyn Johnson; great grandchildren, Tyler, Sean and Jack Dunn; and he will also be missed by Tiffany and Sean Reaney and their children, Grace, Colin and Declan. Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
