We thought of you today with love but that's nothing new. But we thought about you yesterday and the days before that too. We think of you in silence we often speak your name now all we have is memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part. God has you in his keeping we have you in our heart. Rest in peace Mr. Black

It seems like a hundred years ago that I first met Bob at a Union meeting. He was like a diplomat speaking at the podium and I was in awe of his manner. Over the years I also realized his knowledge of Local 827 history and how he loved to share stories. The Union was lucky to have him as a Representative.....I consider myself privileged to have known him.

This all happened so fast, I can't imagine life without you in it. You always told me how proud of me you are and I'm so grateful for that, I just wish I could hear you say it one last time. You have showed me so much love and support and so many amazing memories. I will never say goodbye, so I will say see you later, until we meet again someday. I love you more than all the world Pop, my heart is breaking every second you're not here.

From the bottom of my heart words are never going to make this any better but I have know Pop-Pop over 40 years this man was a wonderful father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He loved his family not a day did not go by that he did not go to Lori house he was there everyday to see his family that he loved so much. He will be missed and I know that there is another angel looking down and watching over his family. He was a very special man he had a smile from ear to ear whenhe saw his family. I am sending you all hugs and love and I know that he will be missed so much but you all just remember all the good times and that we have another angel looking after us. God Bless you all.
Love you all
June and Mike La Cava

Bob was not a blood relative but he was such a big part of mylife and my family. Bob has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. He was always there for me. He helped me get my job at NJ Bell. My first car, a 1980 Chevy Malibu, was Bob's old car. He always woul mail me helpful information about unions, politics, health, laws, etc..He comforted me when I was going through divorce, rejoiced with me when I gave birth to my children, celebrated with me when I got married. He was always the first guest to arrive at my parties. He always remembered to send a card on my birthday. He picked me up from medical procedures. He always checked in weekly on me and my family. I could always call him for union history and advice. I loved listening to his stories. He always called me sweetheart and he always said I love you when we said good bye. I loved him and I miss him very much.

While Bob and I shared the last name, many folks thought that we were brothers. Actually we were not blood related but we would often say that we were "brothers from different mothers". Bob and I first met in 1960 during our telephone company careers and became best friends through our association with IBEW Local 827. We enjoyed each others company on our frequent trips to Atlantic City and to Las Vegas; Boardwalk Bullies hockey games; weekly summer concerts in Freehold; senior days at the movies and at family gatherings at Nancy Davis' house where this picture was taken in April of this year.
You will be dearly missed old friend!

I will miss the informational mailings that Bob sent to me in the years since I retired. He was always supportive of me in my Local 827 career. We had a lot of laughs through the years with the Union. Godspeed to a great buddy.
