Obituary of Shirley Johnson

Shirley J. Johnson of Freehold transitioned into God’s presence Friday, April 10, 2020.   Born in Englishtown, NJ, she attended Jamesburg High School, Jamesburg, NJ, later moving to Neptune, NJ until retiring to Freehold, NJ.

Shirley worked for MCOSS in Red Bank, NJ for 45+ years before retiring from the work force.  Over the years, she enjoyed playing baseball and took pleasure in jogging.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Sr. and Alma M. Tanner; sisters, Arline and Gail; brothers, Charles Jr, Herbert and Donald. She is survived by her two children, Lauren J. Boswell of East Windsor NJ, Allen R. Johnson (Gaynelle) of Hainesport NJ.

Also survived by her siblings, Sondra Little, Patricia Simms, Bobby Tanner and Jerri Tanner; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
