I worked with Shirley for a year at MCOSS in 1968-69 while my husband was training at Fort Monmouth. We enjoyed friendship, laughs, and a commonality. I came from Long Island to live in N. J. as a newly married young woman and service wife. There was a lot new in my life at that time. Shirley was a joy to work with and for that year we were good friends and partners at MCOSS. My husband got orders to serve in Korea for the next year; I returned back to Long Island. I had hoped that Shirley and I would see one another again, but we never had that opportunity. Shirley will always hold a special place in my heart - A good woman. This note is from Carol Davis.
