I was a friend of Doris many years ago in Twin Rivers New Jersey. When she moved to Naples, I talked to her a few times via Facebook as I had moved to Ft. Myers in 2009. As I was thinking about her a few days ago and looked her up on Facebook I was shocked to see that she had passed away. I am very sad..........She was a wonderful lady, smart and funny. Although we weren't the best of friends we did have some fun times and I will never forget them. Please accept my deepest sympathy to her family.

When I heard that Doris was not well, I had prepared an email for Paul to read to her, but never sent it. I'm not sure why I never got around to it, but a life lesson has definitely been learned from it. What I wanted to tell Doris was how wonderful I thought she was and how much she meant to me. From the time that I was a baby standing on the bungalow porch waiting for her to polish my nails, to working with her every Sunday when I was 16 at Peddlers Village eating kiwis together, up until her most recent note to me showing her support as a caretaker of a family member with type 1 diabetes, Doris has always made me feel extra special. I will miss her terribly and only hope that she knew the impact she made on my life.
