Thomas C. Madden, 82, of Colts Neck died on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he was fascinated with the Navy and shipping activity so enlisted after graduation serving in the Korean War. His experience as a civilian returning from the war in the 1950's is shared at the Rutgers Living History website. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nancy with whom he travelled, sailed and, as a private pilot, soared above the coastline, a favorite vista for them. Being a good Irishman, he had six children, Thomas Jr., Barbara, James, Nancy, Diane and Matthew; also numerous grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday, May 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
