Obituary of Marie L Yannaco
Marie Yannaco was born on January 12,1939 in Brooklyn, NY. She passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, in Freehold New Jersey, after a nine-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 85 years old.
Marie was raised in Brooklyn, NY with her brother Vinny. Her mom & dad were from Sicily & Naples Italy. She attended Fontbonne Hall HS and later attended Catherine Gibb school in NYC. From there she modelled at a top modeling agency. Then later took a secretarial position. She married in 1959 to Edward McCarthy and again in 1968 to Richard Yannaco, the love of her life. Marie and Richard lived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn where her kids grew up. She later moved her family to Staten Island and settled in Freehold, NJ. She made wonderful lifelong friends along the way. She shared a remarkable 54-year marriage with her late beloved husband, Richard Yannaco. Together they raised 3 children and built a life filled with so many cherished memories.
Marie was an amazing homemaker, wife and mother. She was a happy person and always had a smile on her face. Marie was glamorous and the epitome of class. She was a very social being and always brought joy to the room. She watched jeopardy every night and was quite a competitive pinochle player. She loved to travel with her late husband Richard and spent much of her time at the beach. She also enjoyed dining out and the casino.
Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Yannaco, her parents Sara and Vincent Antonucci and her younger brother Vinny Antonucci. Marie’s life was marked by resilience, devotion to her husband and family, and an enduring spirit that inspired all who knew her. She was loved by all. She has a strong faith in God and church. As Jesus said in Luke 23:43” truly I say, This Day you will be with me in Paradise” So, with that we know her spirit and soul will go straight to Heaven to live in eternity. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and know she will be welcomed by those who preceded her.
Marie is lovingly remembered by her eldest daughter Elise McCarthy of Manalapan NJ; her son EJ McCarthy and wife Kim McCarthy; grandchild Juliana McCarthy of Lakewood Ranch Florida; and youngest daughter, Dawn Dire and husband Nick Dire; grandchildren Olivia & Nicky Dire of Freehold, NJ. She will also be missed by her niece Elena Delaney and the Delaney family.
