Angelica was known to many in the Holiday North development as “the little walking lady”. She had a smile for all the neighbors as they waved her on as she walked daily through the neighborhood. It was through Angelica’s daily strolls we met when my family first moved here. She introduced me to her family and daughter Miriam who became a close friend through the years. Angelica had said to me she didn’t think the neighbors understood her Spanish but that was far from true as anyone would tell you she had a way of expressing herself and always got her point across even if you didn’t agree LOL. She was admired and will be remembered fondly as a senior lady who took pride in herself by all of us that cheered her on her daily walking rituals —btw the weather never stopped her. I’d like to think that her example may have inspired some of us to get out and do the same. Angelica you will be missed by all of us that cheered you on daily. Rest in peace “little walking lady” till we all meet again.

Q: How would you describe Angelica to someone who had never met them?
A: It's difficult to cope when you lose someone you love and respect, who was always a part of your life, and was there for you through thick and thin. That was Mom.
My Mom was a kind, loving, caring person who was always there to help ease our pain when things didn't go your way or didn't work out. But she was also there to celebrate all of our achievements and accomplishments. She supported our endeavors and cheered us on when we reached our goals. She was there to make sure we stayed on track and did not wander too far off the road.
Mom always had unique or out of the box comments about funny circumstances or experiences. We would probably reference them as Grandma-isms, sort of like Yogi-isms. She found ways to turn odd events into funny ones and always came up with a funny line or expression that made us laugh. She enjoyed interjecting some humor in most of our family gatherings, so we will always cherish those unique memories.
Mom was hard working and it was always about family first, and she was very protective of us. She only had a second grade education, but she had a PhD in Family Matters, and she had a world of confidence in her skill set. Mom was strong-willed, resilient and tough as nails. She was steadfast on what she stood for and what she demanded or expected from us. My Mom's personality rubbed off on me and made me tough, confident and resilient too. It's what allowed me to be successful despite the roadblocks. Make no mistake, she set the bar on being tough and fearless. So, suffice it to say, I'll always be grateful for those intangibles she passed on to me, that allowed me to be better because of her love and daily presence in my life.
Needless to say, I've always loved my Mom, and I know she'll always be with me each and every day! So well done Mom! You blessed us with your love and support, and we know the Lord has already wrapped his arms around you and welcomed you into his kingdom.

This woman was a spitfire, strong willed and fearless. She never let anything stand in her way. Her descernment was unchallenged.Never met a woman who's discipline was stronger. My foundest memories were spend listening to her sing childhood songs. She knew all the words and with each song she had a story to tell. She loved quietly and unconditionally as she was reserved with her feelings. She let no one speak Ill of her daughter Miriam. She was proud of the woman she'd become. She loved her sons and worried for her youngest boy most of all. She will forever be missed. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her truly and her family was her greatest pride. I was fortunate to have been included in her circle. She chose me and I am honored and forever grateful. We will never forget those we love they live in our hearts forever.
