Obituary of Hanna Herman

Please share a memory of Hanna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Hanna Herman, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Loveland, Ohio. Born in Plainfield, NJ, she lived in Galena, MD with her son and then moved to Loveland, OH where she lived the remainder of her life with her daughter. Prior to that, she lived in Middletown, DE, Columbus, NJ  and Eatontown, NJ.

Later in life, Hanna found immense pride and fulfillment in working for the family business, where her contributions played a significant role in its success. Her incredibly generous spirit was evident in the joy she derived from giving to others, especially her family. Hanna cherished the moments when she could share what she had, witnessing firsthand the happiness and cherished memories it created for her loved ones. Her deeply caring nature shone through in these acts of kindness. In her later years, Hanna became an avid Yankees fan, rarely missing a game. She also had a passion for books, puzzles, and card games, which brought her great joy and relaxation.

Hanna's life and that of her family were deeply enriched by her unconditional love and devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family, and she cherished every moment she shared with them.

Hanna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, in 2022; her cherished grandson, Peter, in 2012; and her two sisters, Dian Perlman and Ida Katz. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Lee and Sharon of Columbus, OH; Michael and Angela of Lewes DE; Cheryl and Steve of Loveland, OH; and Russell and Kimberly of Howell, NJ; her sister Zelda Panella; her eleven grandchildren, Nicole, Natalie, Thomas, Caroline, Kristen, Marc, Lexi, Brandon, Carly, Tyler; and her five great-grandchildren, Kinlee, Amaya, Jane, Olive, and Eliana.

Hanna suffered much of her life with restrictive lung disease, struggling to breathe.  In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to the American Lung Association in her name (American Lung Association - Donations), or your local Hospice.

A gathering to celebrate Hanna's life will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ 07726.
