Obituary of Frank Tommasini
Frank Tommasini, 76, of Manalapan, New Jersey, died on August 7, 2024. Born on August 12, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, the fourth child of Rose Coccaro and Frank Tommasini, Frank was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He attended New Utrecht High School, where he was a frequent prankster, once liberating a penguin from the Coney Island Aquarium with his friends. He met Lorraine Santoli in 1969, married her in 1973, and spent 51 years lovingly arguing over how much pasta she should make for Sunday dinner. They raised three children in Staten Island, where he was always present for his kids’ Little League games, marching band performances, track meets, and piano recitals. He worked for New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection, spending 37 years ensuring the drinking water supply was safe, and was a lifelong member of DC 37.
Frank is predeceased by his parents; his brother Nicholas; sisters Dorothy (Frank) and Millie (Rudy); in-laws Phil and Kitty, and nephew Gregory. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, children Steven (Lynn), Christopher (Florence), and Lauren Antenucci (Ettore) and grandchildren, Dylan, Nicolas, Ava, Charlie, Grace, and Meg. They were his pride and joy and they will miss their Papa dearly. He will also be remembered fondly by his brother-in-law John (Ed), sister-in-law Marie, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, August 12th, on what would have been Frank’s 77th birthday, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North. A funeral service will be held at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13th at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
