Obituary of Anthony Jacques Lafontant

With heavy hearts but deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved Anthony (Tony) J Lafontant, 94 years old, who passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2024 at his house in Manalapan, NJ.

 

Born on February 27th, 1929 in Port-au Prince, Haiti, Tony was a beloved husband of Josee Lafontant for 58 years, devoted father to Alain Lafontant (Stacy) and Pascale Lafontant Abbott (Wayne), and a cherished grandfather to Tavier, Julian, Max and Alana. Tony was also a cherished brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.   He touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, generosity, warmth and gentle spirit.

 

Tony was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.  He was a pillar of strength and unwavering support for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and resilience that will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends but his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

 

A celebration of Anthony J Lafontant’s life will be held on Saturday February 24th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Homes, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ.
