Obituary of Brian Robert Shio

Brian Robert Shio, 50, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend passed away on January 16, 2024 following a courageous battle with cancer.  Brian was born on November 21, 1973 in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Glen Rock, NJ.  He lived in Pennsylvania before spending his remaining years in Arizona.  Brian graduated from Glen Rock High School in 1992 and went on to attend Quinnipiac University where he graduated in 1996 with a B.S. in Health Science.  He worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot before becoming self-employed as an independent Amsoil dealer.  Brian was a free-spirit who lived his life his way.  He enjoyed the outdoors and spent his time fishing, 4 wheeling, biking, hiking, and working on cars. He also loved working with anything mechanical, fixing things and putting things together.  Brian was an animal lover who always had a dog by his side.

Brian was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Shear Mee and Lillian Lee Lum; paternal grandparents Cheng and Wei-Ling Shio; Uncle Philip Lee Lum and Aunt Helen Shio.  He is survived by his parents Henry and Laura Shio; brother Erick Shio; sister-in-law Michele Shio; nephew Christian Shio; niece Megan Shio and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Saturday, February 3rd , from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North.  A funeral service will be held at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Forest Green Park Cemetery.
