Obituary of John Henry Doherty

John Henry Doherty, 91, of Marlboro, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Sunrise of Marlboro. John was born in Brooklyn, New York. He proudly served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. John’s hobbies included boating, fishing and reading. He also loved history.

John was predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Doherty and his loving wife Prudence C. Doherty. He is survived by his children John Henry Doherty Jr. (Cristy), Brian Joseph Doherty and Kathleen Mary McGaugh (Keith); grandchildren John H. Doherty III, Kristen E. Doherty, Corina G. Doherty, Devon D. Doherty, Jack H. Branscomb, Kate P. Branscomb and Mary Piper Branscomb and great-grandchildren Jack Mason Sholes and Ryan Anthony Doherty. John loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.                                               .

Friends and family are invited to visit on Wednesday, January 3rd, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Gabriel's MAIN Church on Thursday, January 4^th, at 12:30 PM. Entombment will take place on Friday, January 5th at 11:00 AM at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale,NY. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to Tunnel of Towers.
