Phil and I were colleagues at J.P. Morgan. Throughout the years, we formed a friendship, but it was beyond a typical friendship. Phil was a very private person but once he let you in his life, he loved unconditionally. We were from the same generation and bonded over our younger years and the silly things we did back then. Just this August, we celebrated Phil's 51st birthday with him. He would frequently tell me I was a good friend but that evening he pulled me aside from the rest of the group and gave me an unexpected hug. What he said next will forever stay with me, "you are a great friend, a wonderful husband and the best father any child can ever have. Never change." Phil was that guy that every person needed to have as a friend. He was caring, supportive and always extended himself in time of need. He was funny in a corny way which made our bond even deeper. I truly miss our daily conversations but even more, I miss my friend Phil. May he rest in peace.

I just learned about Phil's passing this morning. My heart is broken.
Phil was my advisor for 12 years and even though our relationship was strictly professional,I felt very close to him since we are the same age he made me feel very comfortable from the first time we met. I just started my business 12 years ago my finance was nonexistent but Phil made me feel that he cared about me and my business even though how small it was back then.
We only met once a year but it was like meeting an old friend and I looked forward to it very much.
I appreciate you very much, Phil, for all the encouragements and guidance you gave me throughout the years. I miss you very much.
My condolences for his family and friends. It must have been a gift to have him as a friend and family.

I have just learned of Phil’s passing and am heartbroken. Phil was not only my advisor, but he was a colleague and a friend. We had many wonderful conversations outside of our professional relationship and my heart goes out to his family, friends and coworkers for the loss of this beautiful human.
