Claire Spano, 75, of Marlboro, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Astoria, NY, she lived in Old Bridge before moving to Marlboro 30 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. Claire loved her family and her home. She opened her heart and home to everyone. She would often receive a call from family or a friend to make a "reservation" at Camp Spano. Nothing gave her greater joy than making others feel happy and safe. Claire selflessly lived her life to help others. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph in 2004. She is survived by her four children and their families, Joseph and Diane Spano of Freehold and their children, Matthew and his wife, Jen, Steven and Andrew Spano; James Spano of Hillsborough and his children, Elanna Spano and her son, Hunter, and James, Kenneth and Kimberly Spano; Mary and Thomas Gleckner of Freehold; and Thomas Spano of Brick; her sister, Monica Andreola of Levittown, NY; and her dogs, Max and Toby. Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, March 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 a.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment will be private.
