Obituary of Lilia Lichauco-Garon

Lilia Lichauco-Garon, 82, of East Stroudsburg, PA., passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospice House. Lilia was born in Baguio City in the Philippines. Lilia was employed as a Registered Nurse for many hospitals in Jersey City, including Christ hospital and Greenville hospital. In her spare time, she loved to frequent the casinos in Atlantic City, enjoying the thrills and taking advantage of what the city had to offer. She was a strong willed, independent woman who worked hard and played hard, but never forgetting her obligations to her family.

Lilia was predeceased by her loving parents Florencio Cardinal and Tomasa Baugan Cardinal. She is survived by her son Libby Lichauco of Fords, NJ; daughters, Lynn Spinoglio of Bend, OR and Lucy Shalvoy of Las Vegas, NV; her sisters Nenita Zurick, Zenida Cardinal and Eufemia Cardinal Carolino; granddaughters Kelly Baillon, Margaux Baillon, Justine Baillon and Meghan Lichauco; and great-grandsons Oliver Beebee and Nico Tenney.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, June 12, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
