Obituary of Vincent Gerard Lyons
Vincent Lyons, 77, of Monroe, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, February 23rd 2023, at Monroe Village Health Care Center after a 6 month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Vincent was born in Brooklyn, New York, and spent most of his life as a proud Brooklyn resident. He has resided in Monroe since July of 2022.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia, and his two daughters, Karen Vasquez and her husband, Julian Vasquez, and Claire Feldman and her husband, David Feldman. He is also survived by his four cherished grandchildren, James, Michael, Jack and Jane.
Vincent was a beloved husband, an incredible father, a loving Grandpa, and a friend to so many. To know him was to love him. He was humble, generous, funny, and intelligent. He was a real hero with a heart of gold who could make you laugh out loud on a regular basis with his humor and candor. He left his mark on so many as an Army veteran, FDNY Battalion Chief, and a 9/11 first responder. There is truly no one like him, and the world won’t be the same without him in it.
A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Gabriel's Main Church in Marlboro, New Jersey on Wednesday, March 1st, at 11:00am. To leave a condolence or find directions, visit www.freemanfuneralhomes.com.
