I'm so shocked to have learned that Dr. Duerkes passed away and so suddenly.
I was a patient for about 20 years. What a great chiropractor and decent man.

We just got home from Florida we were gone since January. I am shocked to hear of the passing of Dr. John. I am so sad he was the best chiropractor I have ever been to. I have been going to him for over 25 years. Please accept my condolences. Gone too soon.May he RIP. Sincerely Diann Hoffmann

I was so saddened to read of the doctor’s passing. I Hadn’t been a patient in several years, but I recall the doctor’s kindness. He was always willing to squeeze me in to an appointment given my work schedule. I know he loved his family and spoke of them often.

Dear Eileen,
I am heartbroken to get the news about Dr. Duerkes. Lew and I just got home from the Bahamas and went to the office for our appointment today. The note on the door was such a shock. We have been going to your husband for 40 years and will certainly miss him. Please know your are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

Q: How would you describe John to someone who had never met them?
A: I have told many of people about the healing power and the personality of Dr. John . I also shared his mild mannered ways and the knowledgeability of different subjects with many people.

Eileen-I'm so sorry to hear of John's (Dr. D) passing. After 33 years of going to him to adjust my back, and him going to high school with my sister, he truly made me feel like a really good friend, besides a patient. He took such good care of me, and then all of my kids and my husband. He was such a sweet, quiet man and he will be missed by so many. Prayers and love to you and his entire family. Johnny had such a sweet spirit about him. The one thing I remember when he adjusted my back when I came up from Virginia was when he said " Make Sure you get a chiropractor that cares about you and your back. So caring.

We will miss John so very much . He was a wonderful friend & an amazing chiropractor. Very sad to hear of the passing of just a wonderful man. I knew him since 1983 when he game in my gym. He was just opening his new business wall Chiropractic. Had years of great conversations with john, he was an excellent doctor and friend. I still was his patient saw him just a couple days before. Shocked saddened. So sorry.

I have known John first as a patient over 30 years ago and became a friend which was very easy . Over those years he has helped me physically and also mentally with all that life throws at us. I have heard his life struggles and happiness as well! He was a person that was very easy to talk to.

I was a patient and friend of John for 30 years in until I moved to Florida in 2017. Had so many wonderful discussions with him and he was always there when I needed him. They're not many chiropractors that would meet you on a moment's notice, but he always did. I am so saddened and shocked by this and was planning on visiting him when I travel up to Jersey this year. John and I went to Howell High School together and shared many good times. He was a dear friend and a wonderful, compassionate person. Johnny Duerkes was my mother’a cousin. My grandmother, Grace Emmons, always had parties at her house. There was always certain people that when you saw them you were happy because they were just so so nice. Johnny Duerkes was always one of those people to me. He always had such a sweet smile on his face. I always enjoyed talking with him. He had a way to make you feel like you were special. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
