Obituary of Irene Mihaly

Irene M. Mihaly, 95, of Freehold, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Centra State Medical Center. Irene was born in Hillside, New Jersey. She was an avid member of the Freehold Township Senior Center and Hope Lutheran Church. Irene was retired from Clifton T. Barkalow and Laura Donovan Elementary Schools.

Irene was predeceased by her parents John and Eva Petrenko Sr.; husband Captain Henry Mihaly; siblings John Jr. and Dorothy Petrenko. She is survived by her children; Mark R. Mihaly (Christine Ruess), Nancy E. Sweet (Rev.Stephen E.Sweet), David H. Mihaly (Heather Tunis) and Debra A. Mihaly; and grandsons Christopher M. and Bryan J. Sweet.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday, January 24, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street. A funeral service will be held at Freeman Funeral Home on Tuesday at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery.
