Dear Janice, Brianne & Kerry,
I know Jim through his brother, Teddy. What can I say about the Tanke brothers!! They were all unique and special in their own way. Jimmy being the youngest always had a twinkle in his eye and laugh. They always brought fun and laughter to every get together. I am saddened by this loss especially for those left behind. He loved his family and made that known to all who got to spend time in his company. I pray that God will ease your pain during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Maryellen Ryan

Our deepest sympathies to the Tanke family on your loss. I started my career with Jimmy at XOM in 1979 in Floram Park. We have been friends since. We reunited in Clinton in the early 2000's. Jimmy was a great person and always had a smile. He loved the beach. That is where you could always find him. This is a terrible loss. Here is a picture of Jimmy, John, Dave and I together at Jimmy's 30yr anniversary party. We all started together at ExxonMobil. You will be deeply missed.

Jim was an ExxonMobil colleague and very good friend of mine. Together, we had the opportunity to visit many foreign countries as part of our work assignments. We traveled to Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany, and Japan over the course of several years.
Jim was a conscientious and dedicated worker. He never complained about the long hours we worked to complete our assignments at the various refineries. Our work success was a direct result of his dedication and hard work.
In addition to the hard work, we of course had some good times as well. Both of us had fond memories of our trips together.
After retirement, we kept in touch regularly and would reminisce often about the good times we had.
We often talked about visiting Monte Carlo while working in France and Italy, where Jim won at the world-famous “Casino de Monte Carlo”. We also shared stories about our three weeks in Japan. One evening, our gracious Japanese hosts arranged for a dinner and a night of “karaoke” for us. At the request of our hosts, Jim sang “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. They were very impressed with his singing abilities and gave him a standing ovation.
I will miss my good friend Jim very much. I am sure he is in Heaven since he was such a good man in this life. I will remember him always. My sincere condolences to Janice and his two daughters.
