Obituary of Santa M. Schembari

Santa M. Schembari, 92, of Manalapan, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at home. Santa was born in Manhattan, New York. She attended Sacred Heart School on East 33^rd Street and went to high school at Central Needle Trade Fashion (which later became Fashion Institute). Santa first job was making fashion hats for the NY Rockette dancers, designing dresses and helping out at her family’s candy store on 2^nd Ave. She then went onto to work at American Management as a Proof Reader. Santa married her husband Jerry on June 6, 1954. She loved spending time with her family, sewing and dancing. She wanted to pass on a little advice to the younger generation is to always tell the truth and be kind.

Santa is survived by her children, Mary (Angelo) Gandolfo, Rosalie (Joseph) Fioretta and Concetta (Anthony) Radicone; 2 beloved grandchildren Joseph Gandolfo and Nicole Radicone and two beloved great grandchildren Savannah and Andrew Gandolfo.

Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Monday, September 26, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan on Tuesday September 27 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island.
