He really was the original ‘girl dad’ and even took time to give me some fatherly advice that I will always remember. Dear Daddy,
Thank-You for being the best father in the world. Thank-You for surprising me with the doll house that you built for me yourself when I was a child, and for making my magic wand for my princess Halloween costume. Thank-You for taking me to Carvel for ice cream when I was upset. Thank-You for helping me with my math homework and countless science projects. Thank-You for letting us have dogs, rabbits, hamsters and gerbils (in the days when you called me your little monkey)!! Thank-You for taking me to the Father-Daughter Dance every year in high school. Thank-You for sending me to college and moving me to and from my many apartments in Boston and Manhattan. Thank-You for cheering me up when I was down. Thank-You for your life advice, your wisdom and support, but mostly for your love. I will always treasure our silly inside jokes and our special handshake. I can't imagine my life without you. I hope you're drinking a Manhattan or a German beer and laughing with your friends and family. Daddy, I love you to the moon and back a million, trillion, zillion times. Please watch over us until we meet again. I will miss you forever.
