Obituary of John Manuel Ricardo
John Ricardo, 61, of Freehold Township, NJ passed away on January 19th at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.
John was born on October 11th, 1960, in Cacem da Cima, Portugal to Jose and Maria Ricardo.
John and his family immigrated to the US on July 3rd, 1966 and he remained a resident of Freehold for his whole life. He graduated from Freehold Township High School in 1978 and then enlisted in the Marines. John spent has working days as a Construction Foreman and took great pride in his contributions to his community. In his later years he became a fixture in the Local VFW, serving as the Quarter Master for Post 4374 and was also Judge Advocate for Post 4374 VFW riders. John was always known for helping others and supporting his local community.
John is preceded in death by his loving wife Cindy Ricardo and his parents, Jose and Maria. He is survived by his brother Alex, son Jonathan and daughter-in-law Casey, daughter Lauren and son-in-law James and their three children. John enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sports games, soccer, the Cowboys, Yankees and spending time with his close friends.
Visitations will be held at Freeman Funeral Home in Freehold on Friday, January 21st from 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at 10AM at St. Rose of Lima Church in Freehold. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold, NJ.
