Obituary of Stanley J Makowski

Stanley J. Makowski, 97, passed away at Centra State Medical Center on Tuesday December 21, 2021. He was Born in Gilberton, PA, and lived most of his life in Freehold. He graduated from Penn State University, and later pursued graduate studies at Rutgers University and Penn State University. Stanley taught at schools in Gilberton, PA and Freehold, NJ, and later retired in the early 1980’s as Superintendent of Schools for North Hanover Township, NJ. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold, NJ. Stanley was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus Freehold Council 1672, the Penn State Alumni Association and NJ Education Association of School Administrators.

Stanley was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Julia M. Makowski; his parents Helena and Casimir Makowski; his brothers Anthony and Paul and his sister Mary H. Makowski. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. His family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care provided by his long-time health care aide, Patience.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 29, 2021, from 9:30am – 11:30am at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold, NJ, 07728.  A Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday December 29, 2021 at 12:00pm. Entombment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
