Obituary of James Vincent Madill
James Vincent Madill was born on November 10, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY to Vincent Madill and Lorine Denver Madill. He attended Good Shepherd Catholic School in Brooklyn and St Francis Prep in Queens. Our family moved to Freehold, NJ in October of 1970. He attended Freehold Boro High School but received his GED diploma from Freehold Township High School.
Jim was a valued employee at the Asbury Park Press warehouse, in Freehold Township, until that location closed.
He was a big Cleveland Indians fan, like his father Vincent and a big New Jersey Devils fan. He also loved following all collegiate sports and attended many games at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, his father’s alma mater, Princeton University and Wagner College just to name a few. Jim enjoyed listening to the radio, especially Jazz music and Frank Sinatra. He enjoyed watching classic TV, especially westerns. He also enjoyed spending time down the shore, specifically Point Pleasant. He had an extraordinary ability to recall all kinds of facts and information and was also a history buff.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Valerie Madill Scott and Pamela Madill, his brother-in-law Kevin Scott, and his extended family, whom he loved very much.
“May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
