Obituary of Paul Richard Stalets
Paul Richard Stalets, 81, of Marlboro, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Bayshore Community Hospital. Born in Newark, New Jersey he resided in Marlboro for 43 years. Paul worked at various 2 Guys locations until he served in the Army in Buffalo and Texas. After the service, he attended RCA Technical Institute, earning his Associates Degree. Paul started his career at Bell Labs while continuing at Monmouth College where he received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. He then went on to get his Masters Degree at Stevens Institute. Paul ultimately retired from Lucent Technologies as a supervisor in 1999.
Outside of work, Paul was active in the St. Gabriel’s Choir. After retirement, Paul took up boating for many years on Barnegat Bay. He also served as a Trustee for the Marlboro Cultural and Improvement Fund for several years and loved attending the NJ Symphony Orchestra, and concerts and plays at the McCarter Theater.
Paul was predeceased by his parents Bernice Wasylyk and Frank Stalets. He is survived by his loving wife Irene Stalets; sister Bernice Plesnik; brother Vincent Stalets; nephew John Plesnik; nieces Kathy Peck and Kim Rheinlander and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lorraine and Joe Hughes as well as many cousins and friends.
Friends and family are invited for a memorial gathering on Friday August 13, 2021 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church, Marlboro.
