Obituary of Edward Martin McGrory

Edward Martin McGrory, 81 passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 after a short stay at Tower Lodge Care Center in Wall Township, New Jersey. He was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident. He served his country through the Army Reserve. Edward worked most of his career with the Freehold Borough Public Works Department and Water Treatment Plant, he also worked at Gannett Newspapers in Freehold, Township prior to his retirement.

Edward was a great friend and was profoundly proud of his granddaughters. Edward’s passion was everything and anything having to do with horse racing.  He also enjoyed Nascar and could easily be found watching any sporting event.  He was fond of music, nature shows and real life documentaries. 

Mr. McGrory was predeceased by his wife Doris in 1980 and his son Edward in 1991.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Christine of Sea Girt, New Jersey and his Granddaughters, Megan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lauren of Columbus, Ohio and Caryn of Sea Girt, New Jersey, his siblings, brother Kenneth McGrory of Howell, New Jersey and sister and brother-in-law Joann and Pete Ouellette of Apache Junction, Arizona and his many friends that he knew from his favorite place the Court Jester in Freehold.

A service will be held at 11:30am on Thursday July 29, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery #299 Freehold-Englishtown Road Freehold, NJ.

As Edward would have wanted, comfortable and casual attire is requested.
