Obituary of Lawrence E Desmond III

Lawrence E. Desmond III, 80, of Manalapan, passed away on June 30, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in New Milford, NJ before settling in Manalapan 17 years ago. As a parent, he was a devoted Boy Scout Leader, New Milford High School Band parent and always working hard to improve the lives of young people in the New Milford Community. As a grandparent, he loved cheering for his grandson on both the baseball field and in the culinary arts.  Larry was a Regional Manager for the NY State Department of Labor in Nanuet, NY before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, bicycling and watching his beloved Army Black Knights play football.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judith; his son and daughter- in-law, Lawrence and Amy Desmond of Freehold; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Desmond and Patrick Kavanagh of Philadelphia, PA; Grandson Lawrence E Desmond V and a sister Grace Jane Swain of Seaville, NJ.

Visitation will be held at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold on Tuesday July 6^th from 3-7 pm.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday July 7^th at 10 am.
