Obituary of Carmella Testa
Carmella Testa (nee Salardino), 95 years old, formerly of West Orange, New Jersey and a long-time resident of Manalapan, entered into eternal rest at home surrounded by loved ones on June 10, 2021
Carmella is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Joseph Testa, devoted and loving daughter, Rosemarie Testa-Mesis and son-in-law Jimmie Mesis, whom she cherished like a son. She is also survived by grandchildren Michelle Mesis and Andrea Mesis-Bruno, along with five great grandchildren Justin Mesis, David (DJ) Bruno, Nathan Sorensen, Dylan Sorensen, and Amelia Ferraiolo.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Maria Salardino (nee Manetti). Carmella, the last surviving sibling, was predeceased by brothers Sylvester, Joseph, Carmen, Nicholas, Louis, Angelo and Philip Salardino and sisters Concetta (Jennie) Di Geronimo and Rose Lardieri. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Anthony Capetola, and sisters-in-law Catherine Salardino, Marion Salardino, Anna Rogalski, Julianne, Capetola, and Antoinette Di Paola, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and their spouses, as well as great nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews.
Before her retirement in 2003, at age 77, Carmella was employed by Supreme Bakery in West Orange, New Jersey, where she spent the happiest years of her working life.
Carmella was a woman who gave of herself, even when she had little to give. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with everyone.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday, June 13th, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North. Visitation is on Monday June 14th 2021, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home, with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
