Obituary of Mary J Helfont

Mary J. Helfont, 95, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Deborah Heart & Lung Center. Mary was born in Queens, New York and resided in Whiting for 35 years.  

Mary was predeceased by her husband Vincent; and brother William. She is survived by her daughter Julie and her husband Thomas; and grandson James.

Mary was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting and sang in the chorus for many years.  She was well-informed and always had an opinion.  She had a keen interest in sports and current events, especially politics.  Q: Can you name the 9 justices of the Supreme Court?  Mary was also active in the Crestwood Manor community and participated in numerous activities over the years - most recently on the champion bocce team.  

Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, January 15, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, at Freeman Manalapan - Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North.  A funeral service will be held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Historic Church on Friday, January 15, at 11:00 AM.
