Rich was a great person! I worker for wakefern and rich was always happy to see everyone, and loved to make workers laugh. He helped the husky house dog rescue with lots of items and notarized documents for them and garden state german shepherd rescue. I was devasted to hear that he passed from that horrible virus. I know he will be missed by family and wakefern everyday.

I met Rich in college when he was our goalie on the hockey team. We reconnected playing golf in the Jackson Golf League. He was a great guy and I always enjoyed his company. I’m sure he’s now hitting those long drives in heaven... Rest In Peace my friend.

Rich you hired my 23 years ago. Giving me a chance to enjoy my best years. Your smiles, laughter, hugs and understanding has meant the world to me. You were always there thru the good and bad times. We spoke many times about families, and how blessed you were for April and all of your children. I know you are in heaven looking down at all of us. You always joked with me about Greg, that if I needed you that you would take care of him.. Many thoughts and prayers for your entire family. You are truly missed and loved.

Where do you begin to express the deep sorrow we are all feeling over the loss of such a wonderful man and great friend as Rich Corvasce.
We had the honor of having been friends with Rich, his wife April and his amazing family and friends for many years. We will cherish all the beautiful memories of the special occasions, parties and celebrations that they included us in.
Bill has been friends with Rich for over 40 years. They share the same birthdate and we celebrated many together. They were friends at work and play (weekend golf, ski trips) and during hard times. Rich was there for Bill when he lost his 1st wife Chris. He was a true friend.
Bill received an email from another friend on January 7th with the poem below. Someone here mentioned and posted the photos from the Christmas Rich played the Train Conductor from Polar Express. We would like to believe the timing of this message to Bill was not a coincidence. It was our pleasure to have been a passenger on his train.
The Train of Life
Life is like a journey on a train with its stations, with changes of routes and with accidents!
At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.
As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of our life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don’t realize that they vacated their seats!
This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all the passengers…requiring that we give the best of ourselves.
The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way – Love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life without us.
I wish you a joyful journey for the coming years on your train of life. Reap success, give lots of love and be happy. More importantly, be thankful for the journey!
Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train!

I was lucky enough to have Richard as my cousin. He was always a bright light in our lives. We were lucky that Richard, April, Eddie and Lauren visited us in Leicester (England) last March, for a wonderful day with us and Alec, Jenny. Rachel and family Looking at pictures and sharing memories. It would have been great to have spent more time with Richard over the years. But when we did meet, he was able to make it feel that we had only met yesterday. His smile would light up a room, our time together too brief. He is with his mum in heaven, my mum (Joyce), my dad , nana and grandad. Richard left us too soon. We all loved him and miss him. His wonderful family will be his legacy on earth, through them a part of Richard will always be with us. We send our love, prayers and deepest sympathy to April and the all the Corvasce clan. Love from Adrian, Anne, Richard and William (Spanswick).

Like the saying goes, we may have lost a good soul here on earth but heaven gained an angel. I am very lucky and grateful to have met Rich and became my boss ever since I joined Wakefern 21 year ago. He’s there for us in good times and in bad. He’s a very kind, caring and selfless human being, he will be sorely missed by so many. My sincere condolences to his whole family. Keeping everyone in my prayers.

Rich you were the most selfless person I know. Always there for anything needed. From helping me with my Algebra home work 35 years ago, your guidance and support to ckean up and cooking at Thanksgiving and New Years gatherings. I already miss you so much. I know there only a few that could love a brother in law as much as I did you. This is not hard to do because of the great man that you are. Keep watching us from Heaven, with that infectious smile and hugging Mum and all the rest of our loved ones in heaven. Love you always and forever, Michelle XOXO

Rich you will be truly missed. You have been one of my best friends I have known in my life. You have been there for me when I was going thru a bad time and just there for me to listen. I will never forget you and your giant smile always. I know you are in heaven with your Mom right now and of course taking care of her as you have done for so many people here. I will miss seeing you at all the gathering we use to go to at your house and seeing April also. I will miss seeing you behind the bar downstairs mixing drinks for everyone. I hope each and everyone in their life can have a true friend like I have had in you. My prayers are with you, April and your family. I will never forget you and hope to see you again someday. Keep smiling down on us.

Rich, They certainly did break the mold when they made you. You were one of the kindest and most genuine man I ever met and I seriously don't think there could be a person at Wakefern that didn't feel the same way if they met you. Thank you for being the role model you were. Thank you for having a friendly face to call when I needed to talk - work or otherwise. Thank you for sharing yourself and your stories with us. Thank you for leading the teams you lead for so many years and making us laugh in the process. Thank you for just being you!
To Rich's family. God Bless you for sharing this wonderful man with us and my heart goes out to all of you as you try to process this great loss. We will miss him dearly.

Well they built the Titanic to be one of a kind, but many ships have ruled the seas
They built the Eiffel Tower to stand alone, but they could build another if they please
Taj Mahal, the pyramids of Egypt, are unique I suppose
But when they built you, brother, they broke the mold
Now the world is filled with many wonders under the passing sun
And sometimes something comes along and you know it's for sure the only one
The Mona Lisa, the David, the Sistine Chapel, Jesus, Mary, and Joe
And when they built you, brother, they broke the mold
When they built you, brother, they turned dust into gold
When they built you, brother, they broke the mold
They say you can't take it with you, but I think that they're wrong
'Cause all I know is I woke up this morning, and something big was gone
Gone into that dark ether where you're still young and hard and cold
Just like when they built you, brother, they broke the mold
Now your death is upon us and we'll return your ashes to the earth
And I know you'll take comfort in knowing you've been roundly blessed and cursed
But love is a power greater than death, just like the songs and stories told
And when she built you, brother, she broke the mold
That attitude's a power stronger than death, alive and burning her stone cold
When they built you, brother
Rest in Peace to Great Man.

Rich has been such a positive light in my 35 years at Wakefern. I am sad and confused how this can happen to one of the nicest people on earth. I will miss his hugs, laugh, conversations and so many other things. The only comfort for me at this point is the wonderful memories of him such as; sharing family pictures, conversations we had when there were challenges in my personal life, him being our division handy man when something needed tweaking and of course dressing up as the train conductor for our holiday competition - which we won, to name only a few. I pray for all of us who feel the loss of his presence. I especially pray for the family with their loss of a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and of course grandfather.
With Deepest Sympathy,

Rich will be terribly missed. I worked with him for 30 years and cannot imagine the halls of Wakefern without him. He greeted everyone with a smile. He was patient, approachable and always knew the answer. You could go to Rich with anything, whether personal or work-related. He would make time for you and was a great listener. He had a great sense of humor. Rich was so proud of his family. My deepest condolences to his family.

I knew Rich from Wakefern since 1999 when he started in the Shoprite Supermarket office. He was the nicest guy I met when we were there. Everyone knew about our rivalry with the Yankees (he was a huge Yankees fan) and myself as a Mets Fan in the office. He once lost a bet with me and was a good sport and wore a Mets shirt (which he gave me) and a Mets hat. He was always supportive of me and always greeted me with a smile and a handshake. I'm so sad and devastated to learn of his passing. He will never be forgotten. My condolences to the Corvasce family on their loss. I will always remember the good times at work and always remember the fun we had with that baseball rivalry. God bless you Rich.
