Obituary of Florence Wilmot

Florence Anastasia Wilmot, 92, of Manalapan passed away on January 1, 2021 peacefully in her sleep.   She was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a homemaker, before returning work after her children were grown, at the HIP Medical Center in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.  Florence was a devout parishioner of St. Thomas More R.C. Church and would sit in the same pew in the same seat every week.  Everyone knew her and adored her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 2000 and her brother, Joseph Yanowski in 1944.  She is survived by her sister, Regina Rainey of Toms River, NJ; five daughters and their families, Florence and George Martin of Middletown, NY; Joan Torinese of Brooklyn, NY; Kathryn and Paul Tortorelli of Tobyhanna, PA; Laura and Sal Siminerio of Manalapan, NJ; Christine and Frank Tumminia of Aberdeen, NJ;  11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00pm at the Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ.  A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, January 5, at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More R. C. Church in Manalapan, NJ.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.  In keeping with CDC Guidelines, masks and social distancing are required.  To leave a message of condolence or find directions, please visit our website at www.freemanfuneralhomes.com.
