Guy was a very good friend to us for nearly 40 years. He was also a devoted husband, parent, grandparent and great friend to many. Up until March Guy and Nancy got together with Anita and me for dinner almost weekly. We shared updates about our children and grandchildren often sharing photos of their recent activities. Guy was very proud of his family.
Guy was a valuable mentor to me as a school administrator as well as on a personal level with Anita and me regarding home improvement projects.
Everyone who knew Guy can attest to his wonderful sense of humor, which included playing occasional practical jokes on each other over the years.
We will deeply miss Guy’s sense of humor, wit, wisdom, counsel and, oh yes, occasional rant about an issue. But most of all we will miss his loyal friendship. Rest in peace our good friend.
Nancy, Chris, Megan, Trevor, Chase, Cody, Makayla and Peyton please accept our deepest condolences.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Nancy! Our memories of Guy and you go back a long time. We fondly remember taking care of each other's children when we each had to travel but could not take the kids. We hope that you, Christian, Megan and your grandchildren find the peace in knowing that Guy has achieved his eternal reward. May God bless you!

We were sadden to hear of Guy's sudden passing. Guy was much more than a business associate. During the twenty plus years we worked together we developed a friendship that I truly cherished. I respected his professional skills as did his colleagues, who elected him president of the states Business Administrator's Association. On a personal level I depended on his honesty and the educated counsel he provided. I can, without equivocation, say he made me a better administrator.
We have not seen each very often during the last few years. As is often the case, you regret what could have been. Judy and I will miss him. May he rest in peace

My friend Guy Vandervliet was a great husband and father and a friend to many. He was an outstanding School Business Administrator in Holmdel and Piscataway, and so respected by his peers that he was elected President of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, which is where I first met him. I had the pleasure of golfing with him many times and got to work with him during his second career with Johnson Controls. It was there that I was with him in projects that served three different school districts in Red Bank, Hazlet and Matawan-Aberdeen. Guy said I was his first three-peat. I will miss his warmth and friendship and wish his wife Nancy and his children my deepest condolences.
