I think the last time I spent time with Tommie was around 35 years ago. It was a Ting family reunion in the mid-80s held in Southern CA. Even though that was so many years ago, I still have vivid memories of Tommie from way back then. I remember Tommie always having a smile on his face. I remember Tommie’s positive energy. I remember Tommie’s loud and refreshing laughter. I remember wanting to be around him. To be able to have these memories of someone from 35 years ago I think speaks volumes of the impression that Tommie left on anyone who was fortunate enough to know him in life. I regret not being a better cousin and staying in touch. Tommie, I hope you find peace and happiness as you see your other loved ones on the other side.

Tommie was so very protective and nurturing to me while I moved cross country to study at NYU during grad school. He always reached out to me during the holidays so that I wouldn't have to spend them alone. He also took me to the best hole in the wall restaurants in New York and we loved to eat Chinese food and catch up on old family stories. Tommie, I miss your spirit and laugh!
