reconnecting with my cousin Mary in 2009 after not seeing her for 15 years after she moved to Florida, was a wonderful memory I will cherish forever. This picture is esp special because it's just me and Ryan left now, sadly, so many losses after this amazing time have left us saddened but their memories will last forever. Back when Mary and Butch lived in Carteret, I used to spend many afternoons sitting in the kitchen hanging out with Mary, listening to her stories of her and my Mom's childhood. Us Demeter women carry a strong bond. Once we get to know each other, we remain very close, no matter how far. Mary's grandfather and my grandfather were brothers. To date, just from these 2 brothers, there are over 100 cousins! There were also 2 sisters and I connected with Mary Demeter's family line, and what an amazing family we have!!! My heart is truly broken that Mary is gone. She just moved back to NJ after all those years and I was looking forward to getting to spend holidays and summers with her and her daughters, and grandchildren, all of whom I have become very close with! I am so sorry for all my cousins who lost an amazing Mom, Grammy, and great Gram. Mary was a special, beautiful, fun loving, person with a heart of gold. I love you Cuz. We will meet again! Rest in peace our newest Angel.

My deepest sympathy to the family. We go back a long way. I remember babysitting for Mary and her sister Barbara when their parents were at work at the "old" Gypsy Camp. We lived upstairs and they lived downstairs on Holly Street. They were good days. I also remember taking them to Granma Demeter's and she was surprised when I understood Hungarian when she disciplined them in Hungarian which she did often. May Mary rest in peace.

We were good friends when we were young. Lost track when I went in Navy but we reconnected thru Facebook in recent years. I know she had some serious health issues, but she was a real trooper. May she Rest In Peace.
Love to all

I’m glad I got you back to NJ mom, you spent 6 great months with us making some great memories. We laughed, we cried, we got into some mischief and I will keep it close until I see you again.
