Obituary of Elza Farrell
Elza (Brunovs) Farrell, 97, of Marlboro, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020. She was born in Riga, Latvia, in 1922 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1950. She resided in Elizabeth, NJ, for over 60 years and then Marlboro since 2016.
Elza met her husband, William Farrell, when traveling from Latvia to the U.S. They were soon married and had three children: Linda, William, and Kevin. Aside from raising her children, Elza was a passionate gardner and loved taking care of her plants, flowers, and especially roses. She also embraced the Latvian culture and community in NJ and often made traditional soups, breads, and cookies aside from being able to recite many amusing poems and phrases from her birthland.
Elza was predeceased by her husband William, son William, and granddaughter Jillian. She is survived by her daughter, Linda, and son Kevin and his wife Debbie; her grandchildren Graham and his wife Erin, Natalija, and Caroline; and great grandchildren Arlo, Camille, and Hayes.
