Dear Vito, I love you and already miss your presense in my life. We were always very close from our childhood school days to adulthood. Always protecting me. Taking three busses to school and three home on our own daily until we were accepted into OLA grammar school that was near our new home.
I remember as kids you giving me a hair cut when I was four years old. (Mommy was really upset) Another time we thought we would help mommy wash the kitchen floor but we used Ajax powder cleanser and water and made a mess. You taught me how to bowl and let me join your league eventhough I mostly threw gutter balls. You taught me how to play stick ball and included me in all your games always generously thinking of me. As adults, you always had a generous nature. Always picking up the tab and sharing your home with all who rang your door bell, being the gracious host to all you encountered.
When you became ill you suffered for many years. Cathy always at your side encouraging you and being your faithful wife and caregiver with all your disabilities to go forward. Until the very end, Cathy, your children and grandchildren were there for you.
If we knew what we lose when we do not profit by the times of suffering, we would be careful to make good use of our sufferings and offer them up to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
My prayer for you Vito is this:
I beg the Sacred Heart of our loving Jesus to reward you out of the abundance of His pure love. Jesus is the Inexhaustible Source from which the more one draws the more there is to draw.
I pray that you have already been rewarded with your dwelling place in Heaven because of your long physical suffering here on earth. I love you and pray that you R.I.P. Vito

May many fond memories of Vito bring you comfort during this difficult time. Look back on all the good memories you were able to have and smile at the fact that you were able to share these before Vito passed away. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Santise family.

Hi Vito, missing you more each day as the shock wears off and the realization that you are no longer with us here on earth.
Now you are no longer in pain and suffering but once again anew pain free and unfettered with illness. Jesus has taken you unto Himself and given you His everlasting promise of eternal life.
While we were growing up you shared all your toys with me. Your Lionel train set which you loved to set up and run on the table and scenery built by Uncle Denny. Nonetheless, you taught me how to be the engineer so I could enjoy playing with the trains. It was so much fun. You also shared your erector set with me. You taught me how to flip and trade baseball cards. You also let me play stick ball with your friends. You always shared whatever you had throughout childhood into adulthood.
I loved that your birthday was on April fools Day as I was always trying to trick you but you were always one step ahead and didn't get fooled. Except for that one year I made your birthday cake! I went to the upholstery store that was on Crosby Ave at the time and asked for two round pieces of foam rubber in the shape of a 9 inch cake pan. I then proceeded to make a strawberry shortcake with the two fake molds, real whipped cream and strawberries. It looked delicious. We all sang Happy Birthday but when you cut into it, the cake bounced back. I did make a real one also so we could have a Birthday Cake. It was the only time I truly fooled you. You took the joke very well and we all laughed about it while enjoying the real cake.

Dear friend we go back a long time, since grammar school, we new each others family and we were like brothers, each of our parents treated us like we were there children. I can still remember going to your dads store for lunch when we finished working on the grand concourse one summer, we went through high school together went to our proms together, after the prom to the copa cabana, ( Cathy you should remember that), then to the playboy club for breakfast, we were like good fellas, what memories we created, Rest In Peace my dear friend, I will miss texting with you about football, may god embrace you, your dear friend Lenny
