Obituary of Margaret Ann Petersen

Margaret Ann (Tesnakis) Petersen, age 93,  died February 22, 2019.  Daughter of the late Nicholas and Goldie Emma of Staten Island, NY was born February 3, 1926.  She resided in Stapleton, NY, Edison and Piscataway, NJ and Bartonsville, PA.  During WWII, Margaret worked at her father's tailor shop, Paramount Cleaners in Stapleton, Staten Island.   She later earning her GED at night school where she met her husband Roy Petersen.  After moving to Edison, NJ, she worked for the township of Edison and Metuchen Cleaners.  After moving to Piscataway, NJ, she worked as a real estate agent and as an administrative assistant for Gulton Industries, American Poclain, Slingman Industries and Pharmacia.  After moving to Bartonsville, PA; she worked as a hostess at the Travelodge restaurant.

Margaret is predeceased by husband Roy V. Petersen and grandson Glenn Anthony Petersen.  She is survived by son Glenn of Freehold, NJ; daughter Laurie Petersen-OrRico of WI; daughter Lynn Petersen-Heres of Neptune, NJ; Grandchildren Courtney D’Antoni (NJ), Whitney Heres (NJ), Lisa Harvey (NJ), Jillian  OrRico-Gomez (CA), Reanna OrRico (WI), Nicholas OrRico (CA); great- grandchildren Norah (NJ), Lilianna (NJ), LucyMae (NJ),  Zachary (WI),  Levi (WI), Evia (CA), Luciana(CA).

She was an avid golfer and did so until age 90. She was one of the first members of the Edison Garden Club.  In Bartonsville, she belonged to the Red Hat Society and Old Broads Club. Both met regularly to go to shows and share meals.  Margaret will be missed by family and friends.
