Obituary of Carole Moffitt Kane

Carole Anne Kane, 79, of Freehold, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019.  Carole was born in Brooklyn, NY, married George Kane and they raised their children in Bellerose Terrace, NY.  Carole moved to Virginia in the early 80s to pursue her education.  She was a graduate from The George Washington University and was very proud to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling. She eventually settled in Freehold, NJ in the mid-1990s where she could be closer to family.

Carole’s passion was writing. She edited and published several books including “A Dream of Roman Candles” and “The Engineer from Brooklyn”.  She was also the founder and editor of the online publications, “Living Happy” and “The Dolphin”.

Besides writing, Carole’s hobbies included singing as well as playing the piano and guitar. She spent a lot of time fixing up her house and garden and loved to show them off. One of her favorite activities was water aerobics which led her to become a master water fitness instructor. She had a strong interest in mind-body-spirit connection and was a long-standing member of the American Mensa Society. Her varied interests and positive, cheerful demeanor led to the creation of many long-term friendships that she valued greatly.

Carole’s most cherished treasure was her big, loving, amazing family.

She was predeceased by her sister Mary Boyette and her great-grandson, Joshua Andrews.  Carole is survived by her daughter Susan Pascullo and husband Glenn; son David Kane and wife Susan; daughter Nancy Goshorn and husband Zachary; sister Grace Calabrese; brother Albert Moffitt and wife Patricia;  and sister Joanne Stasuk; 9 grandchildren, Stefini, David, Brian, Kristina, Nicholas, Kevin, Gregory, Aimee and Melanie; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Brooklyn, Kendra, and Austin.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold on Thursday, Feb. 21st from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A service will be held Friday, Feb. 22nd at 10:00 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, Queens.
