Obituary of Joan Marie Johnson

Joan Johnson, 79, of Manalapan, passed away at Centra State Medical Center on Friday October 12, 2018.  Joan was born in Wilmington Delaware and resided in Manalapan for 40 years.  She attended PS Dupont High School in Wilmington and Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA.  Joan worked as an executive assistant to the CEO of Atlas Chemical Company for 15 years before retiring.  She enjoyed playing cards and spending time on cruises and traveling. 

She was predeceased by her parents Robert Park Southard (1952); Evelyn S. Walter (1976) and her husband Frederick Johnson (1999). Joan is survived by her sister Lois A. Sutton, her best friend Phyllis Evans; Godchild Kim Evans, and her companion, Burt Eisen.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 2:00-2:45pm at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A memorial service will be held at 2:45pm at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.  A private burial will be held at a later date at the Silverbrooke Cemetery in Delaware.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Delaware Humane Association at https://delawarehumane.org/donate/donate-now/
