Obituary of Robert S. Stevens

Bob Stevens, 75, of Marlboro, NJ passed away on July 6, 2014 at home with his family. Born in the Bronx, NY, he lived in Suffern, NY before moving to the development of Greenbriar at Marlboro in 1988. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of the Colts Neck Golf Club. He was a sales manager for Transworld Systems in Edison, NJ for many years before retiring a few months ago. Bob was the recipient of the Liberty Mutual Life Savers' Award, and received a commendation from President Richard Nixon, in recognition of his rescue of Mr. Harrison Webster on March 10, 1970 from his enflamed vehicle in Greensboro, NC.
He is survived by his loving wife, Trudy, of 51 years; his three sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Barbara of Randolph, NJ, Erik and Cristie Kerr of NYC, and Glenn and Magdalena of Greenwich, CT; his sister, June Drusin and her husband Sherman, of Boca Raton, FL; and grandchildren, Allyson, Jake and Mason.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10th, at 11:00 AM, with a gathering at 10:30 AM, at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. Private entombment for immediate family will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Marlboro First Aid & Rescue Squad, Fundraising Committee, P.O. Box 128, Marlboro, NJ 07746.
