Obituary of Michael Edward Petrisin

Michael Petrisin, 79, of Freehold, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Born in Rahway, New Jersey, he formerly resided in Avenel before moving to Freehold in 1990. Mr. Petrisin graduated from Rider University in 1956 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education before attending Trenton State College for his elementary certification. Michael retired as a fifth grade teacher in Fords, New Jersey after 36 years of teaching. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus as Financial Secretary and Past Grand Knight and also a member of the Freehold Senior Center. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Robin and Steven and Eileen; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Kyle Vladick and Donna and Ciro Averhoff; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 20th, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM, at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, July 21st, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
