Obituary of Muriel Helen Johnsen

Muriel H. Johnsen, 87, of Freehold Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at home. Born in Montreal, Canada, she resided in Brick Township for more than 40 years before moving to Freehold 12 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Muriel was a sales associate at Karen's Kurtains in Bricktown. She was predeceased by her son, Roy Patrick in 1966, and her husband, John in 2004. She is survived by her son, John of Cranston, RI ; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Greitz of Freehold; her brother, Harold Saunders of Ayre, Canada; two grandchildren, Andrew Greitz and Ella Johnsen. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
