Obituary of Martha C. Musgrave

Martha M. Musgrave , 91, of Freehold, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Brookside Assisted Living, Freehold. Born in St. Paul, MN, she was a WWII Yeoman First class in the U.S. Navy at the Great Lakes facility in Chicago, IL. She has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold since 1948, serving as teacher, president, and secretary of many of the church organizations such as UPW, Church World Services and Unity Club. Martha was also a member of the Freehold Women's Club, Jersey Shore Waves organization, Infectious Disease Committee of Monmouth County, and the American Legion of Freehold. She worked at the Monmouth County office of the Superintendent of Schools for 18 years before retiring to travel across the country with her husband sharing memories that last a lifetime. She lived well and happy until the end. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Musgrave; their daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Musgrave; great granddaughter, Peyton Burdge. Martha is survived by her children and their spouses, Sharon and Tom Daniels, Robin and George Burdge Jr., Ralph Jr. and Pam Musgrave; and eight grandchildren and their spouses, George and Lauren Burdge III, Stephen Burdge, Laura Daniels and Ben Stansberry, Sarah Daniels, R. Thomas and Holly Musgrave, Adam Musgrave, April and Zach Sayre, and Sean and Jill Connor; 10 great grandchildren, Dalton, Savannah, Garrett, Gina, Jake, GeorgeIV, Maggie, Owen, Lola and Kaiden; sisters-in-law, Isabel and Ray English and Audrey Musgrave; and many nieces and nephews in Minnesota, New Jersey and California. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, June 27th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 28th, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
