Peggy Ferrier's Eulogy
June 25, 1942 - January 23, 2013
Young and wild as a child the oldest of the girls…Brave & Strong through the years. She had some hard times & some fun times. Taking care of others is what she loved. Always cleaning, gardening doing laundry & keeping busy.
She loved her grandchildren Donald, Peter & Alexis. Who would put a smile on her face. Along with her niece Dana & Adel, who were both like daughter's to her. She treated them as her own & wow have they all grown..
Things changed when my dad was sick with Alzheimer's and losing her son Donald before his time. She became distant & introverted. But never complained. Her room was her safe haven. Comfortable and alone Happy at Home.
Once Lexi was born she was over-joyed. It seemed that the light came back on for a few years. They would spend hours & hours playing games, she especially enjoyed to play Wii. They would argue all the time about who was cheating but all in all they had fun and were happy. Forever friends.
She loved her Word Search books , even completing one page on Wednesday the day before she left us...even talking about playing cards with me on Friday which would never be.
As time passed she went back into her own little world. Every day her routine was the same for the last few years. Waking up at 10:00am, Making her bed and sitting in her chair day & night.. Comfortable and alone Happy at Home. Safe & Secure is how she felt, No distractions, No Visitors, but as fine as fine can be.. - Lexi would go in and they would play Trouble, Uno, Rumikub to name a few & even eat dinner together at times. When a visitor would arrive she would shoo them away.. Always feeling Safe & Secure in her own little way, on her own terms ..No matter what I did or tried to do, I could not pull her out of that place.
Who could have known that her time spent here on earth with us would be so short. It was a week that went by very quick. She told me that day she was not in pain.. I'm glad I was there with her as God called her home, but I would love to have her back so I won't be alone.
Life is too short, say what you need to say, do not leave things unsaid..Take care of your self & stay healthy. Last Monday life for my family was normal, This Monday life for my family will never be the same again..
Mom you were loved by all us and will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace..
